CNDS

The components of the "Computer Networks and Distributed Systems" (CNDS) agent belong to the 2021-SGR-01059 group of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, recognised as a research group of excellence by the Generalitat de Catalunya since 2009. CNDS is an entity accredited with the TECNIO label. This is the seal granted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through ACTION, to identify and give visibility to the technology developers of the R+D+I system of Catalonia that present differential technological capabilities and with the ability to transfer them to strengthen the business fabric and make the Catalan innovation ecosystem internationally attractive.

We use the technologies of the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, artificial intelligence, distributed computing, blockchain technology and smart contracts to collect and analyse data, extract accurate, relevant and unique information, and promote sustainability and the circular economy. In doing so, we help businesses and public institutions optimise processes, make more informed decisions that support their long-term sustainability goals and create a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The unit is committed to the strategic mission of transferring knowledge and technology to society in a rigorous and efficient manner, and therefore supports units that apply quality control processes in the development of their projects.
